From my father's Sichot:

In the Chassidic "exodus from Egypt" there is the Mitzva of recounting the "Exodus" verbally, to tell chassidic stories and to "sense" and apprehend the story in one's deepest inwardness.

One must know that every narrative is guidance for living.

Every story must bring forth (in the listener) a fine character trait, an inner enthusiasm for Hidur-mitzva, [1] and should enable the listener to sense the "ways of pleasantness" of Chassidic teachings.
